Dr Brooke R. Seckel asked:
None of us like to see wrinkles on our faces. Those lines are a sign that we are aging, and in today’s fast paced world, aging is not something that most of us want to deal with. There are many things we can do to prevent ****** aging and lines forming on our face. However if we already have some skin aging changes, There are more effective wrinkle removal available today than ever before.
How to Prevent ****** Wrinkles
In the book Save Your Face it states that the most important factor for young looking skin is heredity. People with darker skin whose parents do not have wrinkles likely will have young looking skin for many years. However, for the rest of us there are several steps we can take to forestall ****** aging. I have see women in their fifties who have the ****** skin of a thirty year old and invariably they have taken one or all of the steps below:
· Use Sun Block
· Eat a low fat, low carbohydrate diet
· Exercise regularly
· Manage stress well-yoga, meditation
· Frequent facials-microdermabrasion
· Topical Retin A or Vitamin C Serum
· Do not smoke
· Do not drink alcohol to excess
Non-surgical Methods for Prevention and Treatment of Wrinkles
There are excellent non-surgical steps that can be taken to prevent ****** aging. Good skin care includes daily cleansing and non-comedogenic moisturization. Frequent deep exfoliation is important. Microdermabrasion and Micro peel with dermaplaning are excellent methods.
All of my patients are on some form of topical therapy. Retin A and Vitamin C Serum can help prevent wrinkles and other signs of sun damage and ****** aging.
Photo ******* with IPL or Intense Pulsed Light can remove fine blood vessels and brown spots which are signs of skin inflammation and skin aging.
Botox relaxes the ****** muscles that cause frown lines, crows feet, worry lines, lip lines and other lines that occur when our face is dynamically moving. Botox is very effective and safe for most people. I believe it is especially important for people to have Botox to prevent lines from returning after the laser has been used to remove them.
Soft tissue fillers like Hyaluronic Acid can help deep ****** lines like the nasal ****** fold and Marionette lines, but fillers do not work well on the dynamic lines such as frown lines, crows feet and worry lines.
Fillers can be used effectively to rejuvenate the lips.
In summary the best non-surgical treatments are used in the 6-step ****** rejuvenation program:
· Daily skin care
· Frequent deep exfoliation
· Topical Retin A or Vitamin C Serum
· IPL-Photo facial
· Botox
· Soft Tissue Fillers-Hyaluronic Acid
I do recommend that you seek these treatments by a qualified professional office such as a dermatologist or plastic surgery office.
Laser Wrinkle Treatment
The most effective wrinkle removal treatment for ****** skin rejuvenation is laser resurfacing. In the past, stronger CO2 lasers were used and while ****** lines were removed and skin tightened, often the skin lost color. The recovery form CO2 laser resurfacing was very difficult, with wounds and redness lasting several weeks.
In the past two years exciting new laser resurfacing technology called ablative fractional laser resurfacing has been developed which is both effective and safe. Fractional ablative laser is very different from non-ablative fractional lasers which have been around for 4-5 years. Ablation is required for effective wrinkle removal. I use the fractional 2940 Erbium laser because the 2940 Erbium is effective and has a much quicker recovery than CO2 fractional laser in my experience. Results like those in the photo below can be achieved with only 4-5 days of redness or pinkness, compared to a three week recovery with traditional CO 2 resurfacing. Even lip lines and crows feet can be improved dramatically with the new fractional ablative 2940 Erbium laser-see photo below:
Remember, prevention is always the best cure. However if you see signs of aging starting in your face, start prevention and treatment now, the earlier you take action the better. The exciting new fractional ablative erbium lasers are the wave of the future for ****** laser treatments that actually work, with minimal down time

Madison Greene asked:
One of the most embarrassing skin conditions is acne. Why? Because it is on your face where everyone can see it. Also, it can take days and sometimes weeks to treat acne making it a condition that is hard to get rid of.
Acne is a skin problem that consists of pustular eruptions, localized abscessed formations and local inflammatory conditions. It can be devastating to a person’s confidence and self-esteem, especially in more severe cases.
If you are one of the many people out there who are suffering from an acne skin condition, you should know that there are methods of treatment out there that you can use that will help to relieve if not entirely get rid of your acne problem. One in particular is the acne laser skin treatment.
Acne Laser Skin Treatment
The acne laser skin treatment procedure allows your physician or dermatologist to have precise control over the area that is treated. The procedure works by gently vaporizing the damaged and scarred skin to reveal your fresh, beautiful skin underneath.
Does Acne Laser Skin Treatment Hurt?
It is an almost entirely pain-free procedure and one that is performed on an outpatient basis. This means that you do not have to be admitted into the hospital or spend days there, you just have to go in for the procedure, which typically takes about a half hour, and then you are free to go home right after the treatment.
The scars from your acne are able to be removed in a precise, bloodless, and simple fashion, and the acne laser skin treatment always achieves excellent results. Just remember that your skin will generally be pink and a bit tender for a few days after the treatment, especially if you have sensitive skin.
Are All Acne Laser Treatment Results The Same?
Results vary from one patient to another, and so if you know someone that has already gone in and had the procedure done, you can use their results as an example, but remember that your results may not be the same. You may have a better outcome or you may not. It depends on the severity of your condition and on how the procedure is performed.
You also want to make sure that you have a sit down with your doctor before getting too serious about having something such as an acne laser skin treatment procedure done, because although it is considered as being a very simple, minor procedure, it is still a procedure nonetheless and so you need to take it seriously and be aware of any complications that could result from the procedure.
Also, not everyone that has acne needs a laser procedure. Your dermatologist may recommend a three step acne cream instead. These are usually very effective, but not in cases of severe acne. That is when the laser treatment is usually necessary.
